    Is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease involving the central and peripheral nervous system.
  5. Oncology
    Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. A medical professional who practices oncology is an oncologist.
  6. Psychiatry
    Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, study, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behaviour, cognition, and perceptions. See glossary of psychiatry.
  7. Infectious Disease
    A disease caused by microorganisms that invade tissue.
  8. Rheumatology
    Rheumatology is a sub-specialty in internal medicine, devoted to diagnosis and therapy of rheumatic diseases. Physicians who specialize in rheumatology are called rheumatologists.
  9. Pain Management
    Algology is the medical treatment of pain as practiced in Greece and Turkey. The Hellenic Society of Algology and the Turkish Algology-Pain Society are the relevant local bodies affiliated to the International Association for the Study of Pain.
  10. Vaccines
    A vaccine is a biological preparation that provides active acquired immunity to a particular disease.
  11. Medical Device
    Apparatus, appliance, software, material, or other article-whether used alone or in combination, including the software intended by its manufacturer to be used specifically for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes and necessary for its proper application-intended by the manufacturer to be used for human beings.
  12. Gastroenterology
    Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. Diseases affecting the gastrointestinal tract, which include the organs from mouth to anus, along the alimentary canal, are the focus of this speciality.
  13. Dermatology
    Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, nails, hair and its diseases. It is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects.
  14. Nephrology
    Is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys: the study of normal kidney function and kidney problems, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney problems, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy (dialysis and kidney transplantation).
  15. Hepatology
    Is the branch of medicine that incorporates the study of liver, gallbladder, biliary tree, and pancreas as well as management of their disorders.
  16. Psychiatry
    Is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, study, and treatment of mental disorders.[1][2] These include various maladaptations related to mood, behaviour, cognition, and perceptions.

The informed consent describes what you can expect from your participation in the study such as the frequency of the study visits, what procedures will be done during the study, any potential benefits and possible risks of participating in the study. After reading it carefully you may discuss it with the study doctor and coordinator. You should ask them questions or request additional information. Once you are satisfied and decide to join, you will be asked to sign the informed consent document.

Are research studies safe?
After signing the informed consent, you will be required to provide some more information in order to make sure that you meet the requirements for study enrollment. Once eligibility is confirmed you will be enrolled in the study.
Researchers, doctors, and other health professionals conduct research studies according to strict rules set by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA created these rules to protect clinical trial participants and to make sure they are treated as safely as possible. Research studies are also overseen by medical ethics groups to ensure that study participants are treated appropriately.
